Family
Bill is a graduate of Middleburg High School where he spent 4 years in Navy ROTC and where he met his wife, Samantha, in his senior year of HS. They have been happily married for 20 years and counting and have 2 beautiful children, a daughter Haley, and a son Henry, who are just an absolute joy. Residing in the Mandarin area with their double-doodle, named Pretzel. Being born and raised in Jacksonville, Bill takes pride in the area, he is pro-America, pro-freedom, and anti-big-corporation. Bill and his family strive to support our local community, families, and businesses.
Military Service
As a proud serviceman, Bill spent time in the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment in Camp Lejeune, NC, an infantry battalion, as a platoon corpsman.
Thanksgiving 2003, he arrived in Camp Bagram, Afghanistan, where he was forward-deployed to various parts of the country to support Operation Enduring Freedom. During this deployment, he earned various medals including Combat Action Ribbon.
March 2005, deployed for 6 months with 2 of 8 onboard the USS Kearsarge for the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Ops Capable, where they conducted ship-to-shore operations in numerous countries as a helicopter company forward.
After returning from the MEU, Bill received orders to depart from the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, and to join an 11-man unit called a MiTT (Military Transition Team), as medical director and liaison to the Iraqi Army in Fallujah, Iraq. This is considered a special operations unit.
I spent 7 months living on an Iraqi Army base in Northern Fallujah, training counterparts on field medicine and leadership, conducting counter-terrorism operations, and acting as a quick-reaction force for other units in the area.
Bill was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with the Combat ‘V’ for valor in saving a few lives.
He was honorably discharged from the US military on October 30, 2007.
Education
Bill earned his associate's degree through distance learning while serving in the military. Once discharged, he returned to Jacksonville and attended UNF Coggin College of Business where he majored in Finance and Financial Services.
